The core of the standard revolves around the Critical Fall Height (CFH) . This is the maximum height from which a surface can protect a child. The test uses a metal headform fitted with an accelerometer, dropped from increasing heights onto the surface. The goal is to measure the Head Injury Criterion (HIC) value.
